Advantages:
-Can make their own specific laws (Marriage Rights)
-Knows what taxes should go for (Building Roads, exct.)
Disadvantages:
-If each state has power to make their own laws they can become divided, and not work as a whole country just seperate states
-States can challenge government authority

An advantage of states being able to makes some rules is that they are more aware of specific needs of the people in the area. A disadvantage is that if a state tries to become too powerful than there might be conflict.

Advantages of states making their own certain laws is so that the state can do what is right for the state and governments in the state. Not every government is the same so state governments deciding is best to decide what is best for that location. like poverty, education.

Some Advantages:
State governments can deal with issues that are relative to the state, rather than the national government taking time to deal with it. Like raod work that needs to be done in certain states. It is the state gov'ts responsibility to make sure that a state's roads are siutable. If the national gov't gad to deal with issues like that for every state nothing would get done.

Some Disadvantages:
Laws differ from state to state, lets say a family with 2 school age children moves from here to california the children could be farther behind in academics for their grade level than the children from cali. They could have to be held back because are educational standards aren't as high as california's. (not saying this is true just hypothetical)
