How do you think district boundaries should be determined?

Also, remember that districts have to change as a state's population changes. Keep in mind the apportionment process.

Gerrymandering plays a major role in democracy. In gerrymandering, the process called packing, increases a groups influence in single districts. The person who creates a gerrymandering chart can group a district by what party a district a person is in. The chart creator can change the political outcome, and ultimately decides who wins or loses a district. It is unfair , because the chart maker has all the power. No, gerrymandering should not have a place in gov 't.

Yes gerrymandering has a place in democracy because the state legislature is trying to get the same number of people in each distict and to get a certain number of democrats or republicans in each district also.

How democratic is that? Shouldn't the people decide whether they elect a Democrat or a Republican...not the state legislature?

Well I guess it's not very democratic because the peolpe who gerrymander they have all the power and they can change the political outcome of the state
