Gerrymandering plays a major role in democracy. In gerrymandering, the process called packing, increases a groups influence in single districts. The person who creates a gerrymandering chart can group a district by what party a district a person is in. The chart creator can change the political outcome, and ultimately decides who wins or loses a district. It is unfair , because the chart maker has all the power. No, gerrymandering should not have a place in gov 't.

Yes gerrymandering has a place in democracy because the state legislature is trying to get the same number of people in each distict and to get a certain number of democrats or republicans in each district also.
